“Words”

A mantle of flesh
So tender yet thick
It takes the whips of life
The hardships, the demise, the difficulties in disguise
Yet, it remains as bold and strong as a brick
The tongue like a scissor; cuts like a knife
Through even the toughest of flesh, in a simple slice
Phantom words aimed precise,
Like an archer’s arrow straight through bulls-eye
They strike the heart in a single blow,
Leave a scar, that will never show,
Time heals wounds, but these scars never show,
Forever there. But whosoever will know?
I don't usually write literature or so. Anyways, I wrote this little poem for my college magazine as I was the English Editor.
I thought I'd put it here. lol.

:)

(I don't have the slightest clue what category such a poem falls in lol. So if it's the wrong section, let me know and I'll fix it :D )
